Network Management Extension Delivers Firepower to Integration Platform
Xytech, the global leader in facility management software for the broadcast and media services industries, has announced the launch of a powerful video network management and control extension that brings innovative and important functionality to its highly successful MediaPulse Fuse integration platform. This new Network Management extension provides a flexible, configurable, and adaptive strategy to automate and simplify the complex challenges of video transmission equipment control faced by today’s broadcasters, SNG Truck operators, and Managed Video Service providers.
The new Fuse adapter enables simplified, bi-directional communication with a wide range of devices; including SNG/ENG trucks, antennas, network modems, switchers, and virtually any device in the transmission chain. Fuse end-users will benefit from increased functionality and insight with new access to data on managed systems, whether in a facility, on a mobile device, or in a portable environment.
A first for resource management software, this new functionality provides a seamless, automated solution for video feed ordering, engineering, and monitoring when coupled with MediaPulse’s Source and Destination routing functionality. The toolset utilizes an interface adapter that bi-directionally converts MediaPulse managed services orders to multiple network protocols. The instruction set results are then passed back to MediaPulse, as well as to SNG and TOC panels, for real time circuit set-up and device monitoring. The Fuse Network Management extension also features an adaptive and configurable interface and is scalable from one to thousands of users and devices.
Greg Dolan, of Xytech, noted of the announcement, “Perhaps the most crucial trait we bring to the table is our never ending focus on how to make our systems more useful to our customers. Our intense focus on the broadcast market has allowed us to extend our robust Digital Supply Chain tool directly into the Managed Video Service field. For the first time, broadcasters have an end-to-end solution encapsulating all aspects of their unique business model in one facility management system. We are thrilled to debut this functionality to our clients and partners at SATCON 2012.”
