Mission Critical, 72-Hour Integration Successfully Ensures Smooth Transition for Studio
Mission Hills, December 4, 2012 – Xytech, the global leader in facility management software for the broadcast and media services industries, announced that their MediaPulse platform has been launched at HBO Studios in New York. A carefully orchestrated, multi-stage implementation plan, configured to the needs of HBO’s Production Operations at the HBO Studio, preceded the installation. A live deployment was then conducted over one weekend, with all users brought successfully online Monday morning.
Located in Manhattan, HBO Studios provides production services for internal and external clients creating and packaging promotional and programming content for series, specials, documentaries, movies, and sports. Services include editing, audio mixing, graphics, and file-based asset management. The installation was a success, as the Xytech and HBO teams were able to deploy the MediaPulse platform, with integrations, on time.
For the HBO Studio, MediaPulse provides job management, scheduling, integration to HBO’s accounting system, and notifications throughout the enterprise system.
Greg Dolan, of Xytech, described how the HBO project was executed, “Our team evaluated the needs of HBO Production Operations and recommended a suite of MediaPulse services. To say there was no room for error is an understatement. Xytech partnered with HBO to plan and execute a large-scale implementation of software that we knew was going to be challenging, and was critical to HBO’s operations. With a limited time frame to execute, the volume of assets involved, and the time-dependent nature of the work that travels through the pipeline at the HBO Studio, the project required meticulous planning. The carefully thought-out implementation plan ended with a full scale Go Live deadline, which had their system ready for studio and editorial on Monday morning.” Lynne Chernow, Senior Vice President of Application Development at HBO, said, “The planning and deployment of MediaPulse clearly demonstrated technical expertise, team work, and a focus on getting the job done. Clear thinking and effective customer care won the day. We hit our deadlines and benchmarks with no interruption of our services. Xytech helped us deliver a crucial system, and the manner in which the integration was executed was exemplary.”
Concluded Dolan, “Our collaborative MediaPulse platform was designed to accommodate today’s multifaceted workflows as exemplified by the HBO Studio. They are continually delivering world-class content, and we are honored to be working with them.”
